It is apparent that optimistic thought could be of excellent help if it comes to fat loss. But then, if you keep on thinking negatively, fat loss can be tougher than ever. Let me explain.

You may not believe it, but you’re not able to drop off weight since you think that you’re fat; chances are you even hate yourself for that reason. Now, when you think yourself to be slim instead, could you imagine the favorable impact it could have on your fat loss goals? Your mind-set and mental attitude will make or break your fat loss goals. I’ll show you how to build up a positive mindset.

First, remember that negative thoughts are not something you can change overnight. So be patient, the key is one step at a time, slowly but surely.

1. Why do you want to lose weight? Is it because you can’t stand the way others look at you? Or because those extra pounds prevent you from dating? Or just because you want to look like your celebrity idol? Write down all the reasons you can think of on a piece of paper, everything, big or small.

Even better, write those down on stickers then put them everywhere. Put them where you will see them the most, such as the bedroom walls or fridge, so you could never forget your fat loss goals.

2. Set up realistic goals. It is a critical step to success. Many people fail as they attempt to do things they really cannot. Your final target is of course your idealistic weight. However how long will it take you to be there?

Now, honestly, you can’t lose more than two pounds a week. Calculate and see how many lbs you can drop off a year from today. Once again, be practical in your goals, because impractical targets serve no purpose.

When you’ve set your targets, you now want some motivation that can help you reach your fat loss goals. What you’ll apply to motivate yourself can depend upon the cause behind your fat loss. If you wish to look like your favorite famous person, hang the pics of him or her all around your home. That could be more than sufficient to make you motivated!

Do you need to quickly shed 10 or 15 pounds? Maybe you’ve got a reunion looming on the horizon – maybe your pants are a bit too snug, possibly your slinky black dress isn’t…slinky anymore. Ok, you’ve heard about this fast acting 3 day tuna diet and it seems to be exactly what you had in mind!

Hold off! There are a few facts about the 3 day tuna diet that you will want to know before you decide to get started.

True, the 3 day tuna diet has climbed the popularity charts very quickly. As a crash diet, it’s one of the hot ones. Why? Most people believe it can’t be harmful to your health due to the short amount of time involved.

Not true! This diet, like ALL crash diets has a bad affect on your metabolism. What that means in the end is that you will very quickly gain back ALL the weight you lost…and in most cases you will add an additional 10 or 15 pounds. Now your 10 pound challenge has become a 25 pound nightmare.

Crash diets all tend to rely on starvation and the 3 day tuna diet is no exception. That’s why they’re successful at first…and also why they aren’t healthy. Your caloric intake is far too low and will force your body into starvation mode within the first day!

When your body defaults to starvation mode – whether from the 3 day tuna diet or any other – it’s usually pretty easy to tell. Symptoms may include feeling sluggish and unable to generate enough energy to perform normal daily tasks…constantly feeling cold…dreaming about food (both day dreams and night dreams), and others. These symptoms mean that your body – in an effort to protect you – has slipped into starvation mode.

Any diet below the 1200 calorie per day threshold is considered a low calorie diet. Any diet below 800 calories is considered to be a very low calorie diet. (VLCD) The 3 day tuna diet is very near to the “VLCD” level.

No adult should go on a “VLCD” without the direct supervision of a doctor – even then, you may want a second opinion. No matter how obese, no child should EVER be on a “VLCD” diet.

The name: 3 day Tuna Diet, gives the appearance that the diet lasts only 3 days. Not so, you are on and off of it for a full month and the foods you are eating are NOT a balanced diet and have no real chance of helping with long term weight loss.

A large portion of the diet consists of refined carbohydrates. They are considered as “empty calories” and have little if any nutritional value. Refined carbs also create spikes in our production of insulin. Spikes and drop offs of insulin can create HUGE medical problems as well as energy peaks and valleys and food cravings.

During the four days a week you are NOT on the 3 day tuna diet, most of us gorge and overeat. the food cravings we generate are just too much for us. Studies conducted as far back as the 1970’s show that the average dieter gains an ADDITIONAL 8 pounds on top of his beginning weight in the weeks following the diet.

You can lose weight and keep it off. There are many diets that work very well – and safely. They replace bad food choices and habits with better ones. With these safe diets, you should NEVER experience hunger.

For your own sake…stay away from crash diets like the 3 day tuna diet. For information on diets that DO work, visit my website right away. While it’s still free, get a copy of my “Fast Weight Loss Tips!” mini-course. your body will thank you.
